About
Art Building G is one of seven buildings that make up the Art Complex, located at the northeastern corner of the intersection of Sam Houston Avenue and 21th Street.
The one-story metal frame building was constructed in 1999 as the first location of the Forensic Psychology Service Center. In 2009, the Department of Psychology moved from this location to the area formerly used as the Career Services building.
Following the move, this structure was temporarily labeled as Physical Plant storage; later that year it began use by the art department.
A February 2015 Houstonian article revealed that the new southern campus dining facility would be located at the northwest corner of Avenue J and 21st Street, adjacent to the South Paw Dining Hall to allow for a shared service entrance. The art building would be razed to make way for the new facility[1].
