T.J. Honeycutt
Thomas Joseph "T.J." Honeycutt was a SHSTC alumnus and Associate Professor of Vocational Education. He earned degrees from SHSTC in agricultural education and, following deployment in WWII, was employed as a vocational agriculture teacher at Marlin High School from 1949 to 1964. In 1964 he began teaching at SHSTC where he served as a teacher trainer and president of the Collegiate F.F.A. chapter. He served in many community and civic groups and won numerous teaching honors during his time at SHSU. He retired in 1984. In 2009 Honeycutt was honored with an endowed scholarship established in his memory. The Agriculture Teacher Education Classroom in the Thomason Building was named in his honor in February 2011.
