The Tacket University Police Building is one of the buildings located within Sam South.

Two distinct offices were originally housed within the building, is located near the north entrance of the complex property near Sam Houston Avenue:

  • Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
  • University Police Department (UPD)

The SBDC opened in 1992 in a 1,800-square foot space in this building. It relocated to the Huntsville Area Technology and Business Complex in 2013.

UPD moved to this building after being housed in Gidley House for close to two decades. Beginning in 2014 the building began remodeling to expand UPD offices to the entire building.
