Charles O. Stewart
Charles Oran Stewart was the head of English Department (1916-?) and librarian (1946-48). Stewart earned degrees at the University of Nebraska (BA) and University of Missouri (MA) and taught romance languages at the in University of California. One of the Departmental Dorms - Stewart Hall - was named in his honor. Later, in 2000, one of the small houses on Sorority Hill was temporarily given his name.
