About
Barrett House was a two-story student residence located at the southeastern corner of Avenue J and 20th Street.
Residence Life classified this small house as being part of “The Valley.”
The history of this residence is somewhat non-descript as it is one of only a few small houses not used for university offices or a fraternity or sorority since its construction.

The rear-entrance of Barrett House.

A closeup of the rear entrance of the house. We're never amazed at the number of front and back doors that these small houses go through.

Former residents will want to remember the closeness they had with their brethren in Parkhill House and future generations will wonder why they built these things so close to each other. At the other end of the crawl space is the Chemistry & Forensic Sciences Building.

The numbers on the southwest corner of the building have all but faded away.
