Campus Cafeteria
The first campus cafeteria was a large temporary frame structure north of 17th Street between Avenues I and J. Miss Elva McKee, an associate professor of Home Economic, served as its director until 1936, when the building was replaced by the new dining hall in the basement of Belvin Hall. In addition to students, the cafeteria was used by Huntsville civic clubs and the Chamber of Commerce for special functions [1]. It is suspected the cafeteria was either repurposed or demolished following the construction of the dormitory.
