Henry O. "Molly" Crawford was a 1927 graduate of Austin College. He came to SHSU in 1929 as track coach and later served as varsity football coach (1936-37). In addition to his athletic duties, he was also a longtime professor of physical education.

Crawford was a charter inductee into the Bearkat Hall of Honor in 1971.

Crawford House was named in his honor.
