The houses of Three East were some of the first residences built east of Avenue I. A map from the late-1960s indicates that 20th Street originally ran north of the buildings (in front of Randel House).

"Three East" was a (seemingly-unofficial) designation used by the Department of Residence Life for the three small houses southeast of campus at the northeast corner of Avenue I and 20th Street, consisting of:
